A Place For You

A Place For You

WELCOME!

At First Baptist Church of Lewiston you will find caring and friendly people.

This is a place where you can find help, hope, and healing for the struggles of daily life. The messages we preach are clear and relevant for today’s needs since the timeless truths of the Bible, given by God, apply to all ages. If you are searching for a church home we would like you to consider First Baptist. Know that there is a special place here just for you.

A Place for Worship
The primary reason we meet together is to focus our attention on God, giving Him our worship and receiving His blessing and inspiration. Each of these occasions is a special time of spiritual refreshment. (Click here for times.)

A Place for Learning
To us, studying the Bible is vital because it not only instructs us intellectually, but also guides us spiritually. We believe the Bible and accept it as God’s Holy Word to us, the Book that is alive and relevant to life today. Learning its truths is a thrilling adventure.

A Place for Enrichment
For every person at every age level we offer a wealth of opportunities—special programs and ministries for children, youth, and adults which fill the church calendar. You can be sure that in this kaleidoscope of activities there is more than one place you can be personally enriched.

A Place for Friendship
Nothing quite compares to the joy of Christian friendship. That is why we make it a priority to build strong, lasting bonds between the members of our church family—bonds of concern and genuine commitment to one another. Best of all, this circle of care is ever-widening. We would love for it to include you and your family.

A Place for Service
Just as Jesus Christ came “not to be ministered unto, but to minister…” we accept our responsibility to reach out in service to others. This applies both within the church family and outside our own fellowship. We look forward to serving you.

Frequently Asked Questions...

Where do I find First Baptist Church of Lewiston?
Our church is located at 5560 County Road 612 Lewiston, MI. Heading east (out of town) on 612, we are a quarter mile past the Redwood Steakhouse and Family Fare Market, located on the left-hand side.

What do I do when I get there?
If you've arrived in time for Sunday School at 10:00 a.m., our friendly greeters will meet you at the door and help direct you to the appropriate class. There are Sunday School classes available for all ages as well as nurseries for the infants through 3 years old.

Sunday morning services begin at 11:00 a.m. in the main auditorium for adults and teens. There is a children's service during this time that is prepared especially for their needs and level of understanding.

Our Sunday evening service at 6:00 p.m. is a highlight for many. It is geared to be encouraging and challenging. There are nurseries provided infant through 3 years old.

The Wednesday evening Bible Study starts at 6:30 p.m. and is also held in the main auditorium. This is also a refreshing time of teaching and prayer. There are nurseries provided infant through 3 years old as well as a King’s Kids program for 4 year olds through 6th grade.

Is there a dress code?
We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you're joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you are wearing. The truth of the matter is, there is no strict dress code for our public services! We want you to be comfortable and ready to concentrate on the message of God's Word. Many in attendance will be wearing traditional "Sunday best"--the men in dress shirts and dress slacks, typically with a tie, and the women in appropriate dresses.

Am I expected to put money in the offering?
If you are visiting with us, we don't expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. If you consider FBCL as your church home, we'd love for you to prayerfully consider giving. You may give by check or cash during the service, or you can give online.

What are the services like?
It's true the world is full of confusion today, but we believe that our God is alive and well. He is a living Saviour, and we worship Him with an attitude of gratefulness and victory. We open the service by singing several of the great praise and worship hymns found in the old-fashioned song book.

Prayer is an important part of the services at FBCL, because we believe that God does hear and answer prayer. We'll open the meeting in prayer and many times will offer prayer for special requests of our church family during the service. If you have a specific prayer request, we'd love to share your burden.

God's Word is the answer to every problem we face. We believe that Bible preaching is the most important part of every service. God's Word has the power to comfort, correct, instruct and encourage. We make no apology for preaching the truth in love. At the end of the preaching, Pastor will ask everyone to stand and will give an invitation. This is a time for many to respond and make a life-changing decision by walking down the aisle and praying at the altar. A decision may be to trust Jesus Christ as personal Saviour or to become a better Christian. Whatever your decision may be, the altar is open to you to join others who are making decisions for Christ.
