Frequently Asked Questions...
Where do I find First Baptist Church of Lewiston?
Our church is located 5560 County Road 612 East in Lewiston, MI. Heading east (out of town) on 612, we are a quarter mile past the Redwood Steakhouse and Family Fare Market, located on the left-hand side.
What do I do when I get there?
If you've arrived in time for Sunday School at 10:00 a.m., our friendly greeters will meet you at the door and help direct you to the appropriate class. There are Sunday School classes available for all ages and nurseries for the infants and toddlers.
Sunday morning services begin at 11:00 a.m. in the main auditorium for adults and teens. There is a children's service during this time that is prepared especially for their needs and level of understanding.
Our Sunday evening service at 6:00 p.m. is a highlight for many. It is geared to be encouraging and challenging. There is childcare provided infant through 4-years old.
The Wednesday evening Bible Study starts at 6:30 p.m. and is also held in the main auditorium. This is also a refreshing time of teaching and prayer. There is childcare provided infant through 5-years old.
Is there a dress code?
We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you're joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you are wearing. The truth of the matter is, there is no strict dress code for our public services! We want you to be comfortable and ready to concentrate on the message of God's Word. Many in attendance will be wearing traditional "Sunday best"--the men in dress shirts and dress slacks, typically with a tie, and the women in appropriate dresses.
Am I expected to put money in the offering?
If you are visiting with us, we don't expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. If you consider FBCL as your church home, we'd love for you to prayerfully consider giving. You may give by check or cash during the service, or you can set-up an online giving account.
What are the services like?
Although there are many things that are wrong in this world, we believe that our God is alive and well. He is a living Saviour, and we worship Him with an attitude of victory and thankfulness! We open the service by singing several of the great praise and worship hymns found in the old-fashioned song book. Prayer is a major part of the services at FBCL. We believe that God does everything in answer to prayer. We'll open the meeting in prayer, and many times will offer prayer for special requests of our church family during the service. If you have a specific prayer request, we'd love to share your burden. God's Word is the answer to every problem we face. We believe that the Bible preaching is the most important part of every service. God's Word has the power to comfort, correct, instruct and fix any situation. Our pastor, Tony Petronico, has committed his life to preaching, practicing, and promoting the old-time religion which America was built on. We make no apology for preaching the truth in love. At the end of the preaching, Pastor will ask everyone to stand and will give an invitation. This is a time for many to respond and make a life-changing decision by walking down the aisle and praying at the altar. A decision may be to trust Jesus Christ as personal Saviour or to become a better Christian. Whatever your decision may be, the altar is open to you to join others who are making decisions for Christ.
